PCN NEW HAVEN PARISH (CHILDREN HARVEST) CONDUCTOR: Tosin Chimezirim A. Ibiam PREACHER: Elder Mrs Ezinne Dennis THEME: A Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) SUB THEME: The Royal Harvest ANCHOR SCRIPTURES Exodus 25:1-9, Exodus 36:5-8 1Peter 2:9 Royal: A Royal is a king, queen, emperor or a member of their family. It is used to indicate that something or an individual is related to a King, queen or emperor. It is used to describe an extraordinary person and that is who we are as Christians. Harvest: This is the process or season of gathering crops from the field. For Christians, it is a period for us to come and say thank you to God for His numerous blessings. (SS&S 745. Count your blessings name them one by one ). This Children Harvest is a time to teach the children how to give thanks to God. " Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22: 6) As children, we are royalty. A Royal Harvest is not your everyday harvest. It is not an ordinary harvest. POINTS TO NOTE DURING A ROYAL HARVEST (1). A willing offering: Because of our status, the offering should come from our heart. "Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering." (Exodus 25: 2) " For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not." (2 Corinthians 8: 12) (2). Give Your Best: "And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass," (Exodus 25: 3) (3). Give intentionally and specifically:Your intentions must be clear, don't just give anyhow In Exodus 25:6, they gave specifically and intentionally; they knew the needs at the time and gave accordingly. (4). Give to attract the presence of God. " And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." (Exodus 25: 8) Don't just give because you see others giving. when your offering attracts the presence of God in your life, it will be evident in the eyes of all. (5). Give sufficiently: Make sure your offering is sufficient enough (Exodus 36:5-8) ------------ 5 And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. 6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing 7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it and too much. 8 And every wise-hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made them. (6). Give your expertise: Everything is not always about money. Bring your skill and God will bless you. Don't hide it. We all have been endowed by God and as such, we shouldn't hide out skills but use them to serve God wholeheartedly. "And every wise-hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them." (Exodus 36: 8)
