THANKSGIVING(September Babies) CONDUCTOR:Sister Chiemerie Roselyn Ojum PREACHER:Mr Chuks Eme ANCHOR SCRIPTURES 1 Samuel 16:1-13 Revelations 4:1-11 TOPIC: Ordained For His Praise ORDAINED:This means invested with authority to act as a priest PRAISE:To express admiration or approval of achievement of something or someone. To praise is not all about singing. It can be by words or writings. To praise is to bless. It can be linked to worship, value, merit and commendation. Praise as it relates to God talks about giving glory, thanks, honour to God.Those who have been ordained for His praise are people that have been called,chosen to express admiration towards God. " But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" (1 Peter 2: 9) This explains what it means for us to be ordained for His praise. God has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light POINTS TO NOTE ABOUT PRAISING GOD 1. You cannot praise God except you know him. " That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;" (Philippians 3: 10) 2. There must be something that will motivate you to praise God. 3. You must have had an encounter with Him before you can praise Him. 4. You must love God to praise Him. Praising God comes from a heart that loves Him. 5. Your relationship with God matters. It takes a humble heart to praise God. Your praise must come from a point where you understand that all that matters is God (You must acknowledge this). 6. It takes a heart that appreciates God to praise Him. You must appreciate what God did on the cross. It takes a heart of gratitude for you to praise God. Revelation 4:1-11--This explains the person of God How do we worship God? How do we praise God? Is it with gratitude? God is not ruled by constitution. He has no tenure. He is the God that does all things 1 Samuel 16:1-13 The Lord doesn't look at our outward appearances,He looks at the hearts. He searches the heart. How is your heart? He checks the heart of obedience. He checks the heart of forgiveness. NOTE: Jesse made those that mattered to him meet Samuel;those that had qualifications, but God wasn't looking at all these. God was looking for his chosen. If God has chosen you,He will call you forth. God is interested in you. YOU MAY NOT LOOK LIKE IT TODAY, BUT YOUR TOMORROW IS BLESSED
