PREACHER: Reverend Henry Oti CONDUCTOR: Elder Mrs Dioma Ibiam ANCHOR SCRIPTURES Exodus 19:1-25 1 Peter 2:9-12 Matthew 8:1-4 TOPIC: PRIEST ON MISSION Every child of God is a Priest. The bible declared us royal priests . Your profession doesn't matter. As long as you are a child of God, you are a priest. The bible makes us understand that we are a chosen race and that we have been chosen by God. We are not believers by accident. God set all the plans in place . Our lives have divinely been designed by God and He has a purpose for us. As children of God,He has a mission for us. " But ye re a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" (1 Peter 2: 9) The purpose of God is for us to proclaim the great things of God in our lives. It is not enough to enjoy the goodness of God,we must also speak forth what He has done. Mission is all about sending people out with the gospel. It is about declaring the goodness of God unto others. (1 Peter 2:9): Because we have obtained mercy and have now become the people of God,we must go out and bring more people into the fold. (2 Kings 7 ) ------------ 9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household. 10 So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were. 11 And he called the porters; and they told it to the king's house within. In missions,we take the good news out to others . Mission is a call for you to support the work of the gospel As believers,we should not keep the gospel to ourselves. Mission is breaking out with a view of enlargement (Luke 9 ) ------------ 1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. Mission is about declaring the kingdom of God and this comes with power. NOTE: Wherever you find yourself, always preach the gospel. God has saved us from the power of sin. God has given us power. " And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word," (Acts 4: 29) We should always pray for boldness to preach. Far be it from us as believers that the message of the gospel should not be preached. God can use anyone,don't belittle yourself.
